Just two months after acquiring VoltAero’s assets, AURA AERO has returned the former Cassio S hybrid electric demonstrator to flight as X-VOLT. Lockheed Martin says the battlespace is evolving and the need for survivable, multi-mission, autonomous capability is rapidly growing with it. Skunk Works is responding with urgency, expanding the program with four more vehicles as the team continues to advance toward first flight in 2027, the company has announced. SpaceX has pushed the next launch of its Starship rocket back to September 28. The company had originally targeted Sept. 22 for the first orbital flight of Starship, the fully reusable rocket that the company is developing to help humanity settle the moon, Mars and more. It gave no explanation for the delay. Liftoff, from SpaceX's Starbase site in South Texas, will occur during a 75-minute window that opens at 8:15 a.m. EDT.
