Bybit Opens Oura Pre-IPO Perpetual Trading With Up To 25x Leverage

Bybit Opens Oura Pre-IPO Perpetual Trading With Up To 25x Leverage

TL;DR Bybit has launched OURAUSDT as a pre-IPO TradFi perpetual contract. Trading began September 22 at 13:30 UTC with leverage of up to 25x. The contract tracks implied pre-IPO valuation; traders do not receive Oura shares or IPO allocations. Oura’s move toward the public markets is now being traded before the stock itself is available. Bybit has launched OURAUSDT, a pre-IPO TradFi perpetual contract that gives users leveraged synthetic exposure to the smart-ring company’s implied valuation. Oura Gets A 24/7 Derivatives Market Before Listing Trading opened on September 22 at 13:30 UTC with leverage of up to 25x. The product sits inside Bybit’s pre-IPO perpetual desk and is settled in USDT. That means traders can go long or short on Oura’s implied pre-listing value without owning shares in the company. It is a very different product from the retail IPO allocation route recently announced by Coinbase. Bybit is offering a derivative. Users do not receive an IPO allocation, shareholder voting rights or physical equity if they hold the perpetual contract. Pre-IPO Price Discovery Moves Onto Crypto Rails Private-company valuation has historically been difficult for ordinary traders to access before a public listing. Crypto derivatives exchanges are now testing whether synthetic perpetual contracts can fill some of that gap. The attraction is obvious: continuous trading, leverage and no need to wait for the underlying stock to list. The risks are equally obvious. Pre-IPO valuation can be thin, event-driven and difficult to anchor to a transparent cash market. For Oura, the new contract creates a visible speculative price before conventional public-market trading begins. That is useful price discovery, but it should not be confused with ownership of the company itself. This article was written by the News Desk and edited by Samuel Rae.

Apple Testing Prototypes of Whoop-Like Screenless Fitness Band

Apple Testing Prototypes of Whoop-Like Screenless Fitness Band

Apple is working on an activity tracker that doesn't have a screen, reports Bloomberg . The screen-free health and fitness device is said to be similar to Whoop's line of bands . Whoop makes wrist-worn trackers with 24/7 monitoring, but without a display. Apple has apparently been "exploring" the category for months and has developed prototypes, but hasn't decided whether the project will move forward. Apple chair Tim Cook and services chief Eddy Cue are interested in the product, notable because Cue now leads Apple's health teams. Cue is said to be pushing for wearables with simpler interfaces, like the screen-free Whoop and Oura Ring. Prototypes have a fabric band attached to a computing module that rests on the wrist. Sensors track heart rate and other metrics, similar to the Apple Watch. The latest Apple Watch models adopt features similar to those offered by Whoop and Oura products, including an overall readiness score and an estimate of biological age. A new version of the Health app is being tested in iOS 27.2, and it has a more user-friendly interface with clearer guidance than before. If Apple moves forward with the screen-free tracker, it likely would not launch until at least 2028. Apple is expected to debut wearable AI smart glasses and AirPods with cameras before then. Coinbase Opens IPO Allocations To US Retail Traders Starting With Oura

Coinbase Opens IPO Allocations To US Retail Traders Starting With Oura

TL;DR Eligible US retail Coinbase customers can now request allocations in IPOs through the Coinbase app. The service is offered through FINRA-registered Coinbase Capital Markets. Oura is the first IPO on the platform, with allocation rules designed to discourage immediate flipping. Coinbase is adding initial public offerings to the list of financial products available inside its app. The exchange announced that eligible US retail customers can now request IPO allocations through Coinbase, with the service provided by Coinbase Capital Markets, its FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Oura Becomes The First IPO Available Through Coinbase The first offering available through the product is Oura. Rather than buying shares after they begin trading on the open market, eligible users can submit a Conditional Offer to Buy at the IPO offer price before public trading starts. That does not mean every request will receive shares. Allocations remain subject to availability, eligibility checks and the platform’s allocation process. Coinbase says its system is designed in part to favor longer-term participation. One of the controls is a 30-day holding incentive: users who sell allocated IPO shares within 30 days risk being locked out of IPO participation for 60 days. Coinbase Pushes Further Beyond Crypto Trading The launch is another example of Coinbase expanding its role beyond spot crypto. By putting IPO access inside the same app that customers use for digital assets, the company is moving deeper into territory traditionally occupied by retail brokerages. That does not make Coinbase an underwriter of the Oura IPO, and the company is not guaranteeing allocations to customers who submit requests. It does, however, give eligible users a new path to participate in an offering before open-market trading begins. The product is limited to customers who meet the required eligibility checks, and availability should not be described as universal across all US residents. Oura Ring 5 review: a stunning generational leap for smart rings

Oura Ring 5 review: a stunning generational leap for smart rings

Slimmer, longer lasting and much easier to live with, new Oura sets a very high new bar for health-tracking wearables Oura’s new Ring 5 is a massive upgrade for smart rings, dramatically shrinking in size and weight to bring them right into line with standard wedding bands and other jewellery. It is finally a smart ring you can genuinely forget you’re wearing. The Ring 5 is a straight replacement for the popular Ring 4 and costs from £399 (€399/$399/$A649), though it requires a £5.99 (€5.99/$5.99/A$9.99) a month subscription to access anything but basic daily metrics. An Oura is not a cheap proposition. Continue reading...
