Apple to Report Q4 2026 Earnings on November 2

Apple to Report Q4 2026 Earnings on November 2

Apple plans to announce its earnings for the fourth fiscal quarter of 2026 on Monday, November 2, according to the company's updated Investor Relations page . The earnings report will be available at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time on November 2, with new Apple CEO John Ternus and CFO Kevan Parekh to discuss the results during a 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time phone call. Apple will stream the call on its website. Apple's Q4 2026 earnings will cover launch-week iPhone 18 Pro sales. Apple also released the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 , and AirPods 5 during the quarter. The iPhone Duo won't be included because the quarter covers the period between June 28 and September 26, and the device won't launch until October 23. Apple executives could comment on memory pricing and supply constraints, as well as share holiday quarter expectations. During Apple's Q3 2026 call, Parekh said total company revenue would grow 9 to 11 percent year-over-year in the September quarter. Apple expects iPhone revenue to be affected by foreign exchange headwinds and supply constraints, with growth in the mid-teens year-over-year. Q4 2025 revenue was $102.5 billion, so Apple's guidance suggests $111.7 to $113.7 billion for Q4 2026. Today Marks the 15th Anniversary of Steve Jobs' Death

Today Marks the 15th Anniversary of Steve Jobs' Death

15 years ago today, Steve Jobs passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 56. It was the day after Apple executives introduced the iPhone 4s at a media event on the company's Infinite Loop headquarters campus. In the days following his passing, Apple began posting comments from fans on its " Remembering Steve " webpage. Apple continues to maintain the page, highlighting some of the over one million submissions from people around the world who "shared their memories, thoughts, and feelings about Steve." The company marked the first anniversary of his passing with a photo and audio slideshow on its website, and we are expecting something similar this anniversary. Throughout his tenure as Apple CEO, Tim Cook has traditionally shared words of remembrance on social media and with Apple staff on this day, so we may see a similar tribute this year from the new chief executive, John Ternus. We'll update this article when anything is posted. Apple's New CEO John Ternus is Making Product Design a 'Major Priority'

Apple's New CEO John Ternus is Making Product Design a 'Major Priority'

Since becoming Apple's CEO last month, John Ternus has made product design a "major priority," according to Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman. "Ternus already had some involvement with the design studio as Apple's head of hardware engineering, given the close coordination required between the two functions," he said, in his Power On newsletter today . "Since becoming CEO, however, he has immersed himself in the industrial design and human interface teams." Ternus goes "hands-on" in Apple's design studio "several times a week, sometimes visiting multiple times in a single day," whereas Apple's former CEO Tim Cook typically visited the studio for "about an hour once a month, at most," according to Gurman. Unlike Cook, who is better known as a supply chain expert, Ternus comes from an engineering background. As such, Gurman said that Ternus is largely leaving Apple's finances to financial chief Kevan Parekh and its supply chain to operations chief Sabih Khan, giving him more time to focus on engineering and design. All in all, Apple now has a product person running the show. Apple Planning to Launch Products Faster and More Often

Apple Planning to Launch Products Faster and More Often

Apple CEO John Ternus is undertaking efforts to restructure the company to accelerate product development and introduce new products more frequently, according to Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman . Ternus apparently wants Apple to "broaden its range of devices and create a leaner organization with a greater focus on engineering." One proposal under consideration is to rely less on Apple's traditional spring and fall product release cycles, and introduce new devices more quickly and throughout the year. Ternus has also purportedly indicated that Apple must become "more experimental" to remain competitive in the era of artificial intelligence. Other plans include eliminating some middle-management positions to reduce corporate hierarchy that separates engineers from senior executives. Ternus believes "Apple should hire fewer people, ask more of its existing engineers, and reduce organizational bloat." During a presentation, he reportedly showed a slide detailing annual headcount growth and argued that the "company should be accomplishing more with fewer employees." Ternus is also seeking new ways to generate more revenue from existing products amid slowing growth in the company's services business. The launch of new services has also been discussed. To cut costs, early planning meetings for 2027 have seen reductions in planned budget increases, flat staffing levels, and reduced marketing spending. Gurman cautioned that the changes to Apple's long-standing practices will be challenging and could take years to achieve. There are already indications of changes taking place, with dismissals of directors and engineering program managers taking place in the past two weeks. Those employees were given just weeks to find other positions within the company, and those who do not will be laid off. Other recent cutbacks have focused on the teams responsible for Siri , Vision Pro, AI-related software engineering, and Fitness+. Some employees believe that further layoffs are possible later this year and early next year. Managers within Apple told Gurman that there is a sense of pressure to move faster, with more "hectic" and demanding "hands-on" work. Product development groups are "being pushed to deliver more products, more frequently and on shorter timelines." Apple CEO John Ternus Talks iPhone Duo Design, Siri AI, and Becoming CEO

Apple CEO John Ternus Talks iPhone Duo Design, Siri AI, and Becoming CEO

Apple CEO John Ternus did an interview with Canal+ talk show Clique following Apple's September event. He discussed the iPhone Duo 's design, difficulties Apple ran into when developing it, his plans for Apple, and more. On the design of the ‌iPhone Duo‌, Ternus explained why Apple went with an iPad-like shape when the device is unfolded. I think it's something new and unique, right? But I think we didn't want to just do what we'd seen other people do, which is sort of take two phone shapes and stick them together and then you get this weird square thing. We came at it from we want to build a large screen experience that feels right to us. And obviously we've been doing that for a long time with iPad. And so we knew kind of the shape, you know, we came up with this new aspect ratio. Ternus said that when developing the ‌iPhone Duo‌, there were "so many problems" to solve, but a foldable was an opportunity for Apple employees to "be really clever" and "come up with entirely new things." He said some of the hardware engineering problems Apple had to address involved the design of the hinge and the display, and making them reliable. When asked to share his favorite ‌iPhone Duo‌ trick, Ternus showed off the device's opening animation. "I mean, this is really fun, you know, the animation that you get as you open it across from one side to the other. It's just sort of whimsical and fun. And it brings a smile to your face." Ternus reiterated Apple's stance on AI companions, saying that Siri AI is "not designed to be your friend," which is something we heard earlier this year from Craig Federighi. Ternus said Apple doesn't want to replace human relationships. "They're how we learn, they're how we grow, they're how we find joy and happiness," he said. Then-CEO Tim Cook and Apple's board asked Ternus if he wanted to be the next Apple CEO. Ternus didn't say when he was approached, but he said the question came as a surprise. "When Tim asked me if it was something I would consider, I would say the good news is I was sitting down, because I never in a million years would have imagined that happening," said Ternus. As Apple's CEO, Ternus said he doesn't have plans for a radical change. He was asked if Apple was going back to its roots under his leadership, with more of a focus on engineering products. I don't think anything's really changed. Sure, I'm new in this job, but the focus on innovation, the focus on products, the focus most importantly on our customers, that has never changed. That's been here from the beginning. I am super passionate about products. I love building things. That's why I've been here so long. That's why I love what I do. And so I'm excited to continue doing that. But I don't think of it as some radical change. Ternus said it was "amazing" to be able to say "one more thing" on stage at Apple's September event. "I've seen Steve say it, and I've seen Tim say it," he said. "And so having the opportunity for me to say it was pretty magical. Kind of goosebumps." The full interview includes Ternus' thoughts on ‌Tim Cook‌, the AI race, Apple's environmental goals, the Vision Pro, the new parental controls added in iOS 27 , and more. Apple Designers Explain the Thinking Behind iPhone Duo

Apple Designers Explain the Thinking Behind iPhone Duo

Apple's design team reveals how notebooks helped inspire the iPhone Duo , along with interface principles and expectations for future features, in a new interview with GQ . The interview features Apple CEO John Ternus, Vice President of Industrial Design Molly Anderson, and Vice President of Human Interface Design Steve Lemay. In addition to the device's previously announced features, Anderson and Lemay discuss how Apple approached its physical design and the experience of moving between its two displays. Anderson said familiar notebooks provided a reference for making a device that offers more space while remaining compact enough to carry comfortably. Everyone knows what a notebook feels like in the pocket and what it feels like to carry around. So that was a big part of the inspiration: 'How do you get to something that gives you space but also feels compact?'" The ‌iPhone Duo‌'s proportions are derived from the international A-series paper system, allowing the device to retain the same proportions when opened and closed. Anderson also explained how Apple tuned the hinge's resistance. Its custom variable torque profile makes the device easy to open before biasing it toward remaining open and lying flat. Lemay said that the guiding idea of the ‌iPhone Duo‌'s software was to make unfolding feel like expanding the device users were already holding. Maintaining the location and recognizability of controls was part of that approach, so users would not have to search again for a button after opening the phone. The transition animation was designed to reveal an inner display that appears to grow beneath the outer one. It was really important to us from the beginning that iPhone Duo feels like one cohesive experience, not two different products awkwardly fused together. Lemay explicitly identified the Mac as a key influence on the Duo's interface, alongside the iPad and existing iPhones. He characterized the result as the "greatest hits" of those products. The interview also questioned how Apple expects the product to develop after launch. Lemay said developers will devise uses that Apple's design team has not anticipated, and suggested that some could influence the wider foldable industry and change the direction of the ‌iPhone Duo‌ itself in the future. There are so many things the developers will come up with that we've never anticipated. Some of those will become big ideas that take over the industry and change the product in interesting ways. The ‌iPhone Duo‌ launches on October 23, with pre-orders beginning on October 16. Pricing starts at $1,999. Apple May Return to Server Market With Nvidia Technology

Apple May Return to Server Market With Nvidia Technology

Apple is considering offering an AI server built around "M8" series chips and has discussed incorporating Nvidia networking hardware, The Information reports. The system would be sold to outside customers, potentially bringing Apple back into a business it left behind when it discontinued Xserve in 2011. Apple is reportedly targeting companies that want to run AI models on their own equipment, with a particular focus on inference and generating responses from trained models. One option under consideration is Nvidia's NVLink Fusion, which provides hardware and software for exchanging data between chips. Apple could use the platform to link its M8 processors, although neither the Nvidia arrangement nor the server itself is finalized. The report places a potential release date in 2029, but it could be canceled before then. Apple CEO John Ternus reportedly supported the initiative when work on it began approximately a year ago, during his tenure as the company's hardware engineering chief. The project follows growing interest in Apple hardware among AI businesses , which have been buying Mac mini and Mac Studio systems in large quantities. Apple already produces server hardware for Private Cloud Compute, the infrastructure that handles Apple Intelligence tasks requiring processing beyond a user's device. According to the report, scaling Apple's existing connections between chips would present cost and speed problems, which is why it is considering Nvidia's technology. Apple has also declined partners' requests to use those Private Cloud Compute servers. An agreement would give Nvidia a role in an Apple product that could compete with its own AI systems. NVLink Fusion allows Nvidia to supply networking technology to companies building alternative processors, expanding its business beyond customers using Nvidia chips. The discussions also suggest a closer working relationship between Apple and Nvidia following their longstanding disputes. Apple has already announced plans to extend Private Cloud Compute to Google Cloud using Nvidia GPUs . The companies have reportedly explored additional ways to work together on AI, including the use of Nvidia's open-source models. The project still faces challenges beyond developing the hardware. There is still said to be a need for stronger support for business customers and more software resources for AI developers, including further investment in its MLX framework. Apple Announces iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max Apple this week also unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max , which look very similar to the iPhone 17 Pro models but have several upgrades. As was widely rumored, both devices have a smaller Dynamic Island that can show up to three Live Activities at once. The A20 Pro chip in the iPhone 18 Pro models has a 6-core CPU, a 7-core GPU, and a 32-core Neural Engine, and thanks in part to a much larger vapor chamber cooling system, Apple says sustained performance is up to 40% faster compared to the A19 Pro chip. Other updates include new camera features such as a variable aperture on the Main camera, longer battery life, and new color options, all of which we discussed in our hands-on and early impressions video . Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max kicked off today , with a launch coming on September 18. Apple Announces Apple Watch Series 12 With S11 Chip, Upgraded Health Sensors and Ceramic Models The Apple Watch Series 12 was also introduced this week , featuring a new S11 chip, a similar redesigned health sensing system as on the Ultra 4, and new aluminum, titanium, and ceramic finishes. Series 12 comes in Space Gray, Black, Light Gold, and Dark Bronze aluminum finishes. The aluminum models gain Ceramic Shield, which Apple says makes their screens 60% tougher. Polished titanium models are also available in Radiant Gold and Natural, while ceramic models come in Pearl White and Night Blue. Pricing starts at $399, with pre-orders available now ahead of a September 18 launch. Apple Announces Apple Watch Ultra 4 With Two-Day Battery Life and Upgraded Health Tracking Apple this week announced the Apple Watch Ultra 4 , which features a new S11 chip, a redesigned health sensing system, and a larger battery that Apple says delivers two days of battery life. With improved power efficiency, Ultra 4 offers up to 18 hours of workout tracking with full GPS and heart rate monitoring, or 45 hours in its maximum extended workout mode, according to Apple. Pre-orders are available now ahead of a September 18 launch, with prices starting at $799. AirPods 5 Announced With Improved Noise Cancellation, Audio Quality, and More Finally, Apple introduced AirPods 5 , offering Active Noise Cancellation with its entry-level wireless earbuds at a starting price of $129. A $149 version with a Wireless Charging Case adds swipe-based volume controls on the stems and longer battery life. Apple says AirPods 5 remove up to 50% more external noise than AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. They also boast a redesigned acoustic architecture and updated Adaptive EQ which promise richer, more detailed sound, and an improved Transparency mode that makes nearby voices and sounds more natural. AirPods 5 are available to pre-order now, with availability beginning Friday, September 18. Apple Execs Explain iPhone Duo's Display Design, Secrecy, and Price

In a joint interview with Tom's Guide and TechRadar , new Apple CEO John Ternus and marketing chief Greg Joswiak explained why the company waited until now to release a foldable, its design philosophy, and how it kept the iPhone Duo under wraps. Ternus said the timing always comes down to when a product idea meets Apple's bar "for quality and durability, but also for design." He said the device "was like a greenfield of opportunity for us because it was an opportunity to rethink so many different things." Apple took a hard look at what other foldable makers were offering and felt it "wasn't particularly inspiring," said Joswiak, adding that Apple's approach was "twofold – no pun intended." First, Apple believes the device's wider 1:1.4 aspect ratio is the answer to designs that resemble two phones "awkwardly stuck together," said Joz. Second, Apple worked on the software to make the Duo "unlike any foldable that's out there." As for the foldable display, Ternus said the inner screen's top layer is polymer, not glass, which meant devising an entirely new way of making Apple's nano-texture finish. Rival displays, he said, are "kind of cheap-feeling plastic surfaces. They don't feel good to touch, they're kind of wavy, wrinkly." "The nano-texture just wipes that all out," he added. "It's beautifully flat. It feels amazing to touch and it's incredibly durable." Joswiak said he is "super proud" that Apple kept the project relatively secret: "We put the extra security on it. We didn't talk about it to anybody. We had a very funny code name, which I won't even repeat, that had nothing to do with it. But we said we're going to keep this one extra secret because, look, people knew through leaks that we were working on a foldable." Leakers did get the aspect ratio right, Joz conceded. "There were a lot of coincidental instances of people finding that an interesting aspect ratio. And this is when we said, okay, we're going to really keep this one locked down – and it worked." As for the $1,999 starting price, Ternus mused: "Yes, it's more expensive than the other phones, but we think it's great value." Joz added: "It's called iPhone Duo for a reason. It's like two products." You can watch the full interview via the embedded video above or on the YouTube website . Pre-orders for the iPhone Duo begin Friday, October 16, ahead of an October 23 launch.
