Air Serbia named Airline Market Leader
Air Transport World (ATW) has named Air Serbia Airline Market Leader as part of its 52nd annual Industry Achievement Awards. The carrier had previously won the accolade in 2017. ATW’s airline awards were established in 1974 to recognise excellence in the air transport industry and are well-respected across the sector for their integrity and independence, attracting hundreds of airline nominations every year. “Our panel of editor and analyst judges voted strongly in favour of Air Serbia being the 2027 ATW Airline Market Leader recipient. The Air Serbia team has worked diligently to keep growing and improving this airline, providing critical air connectivity within and beyond the Central European market. I congratulate Air Serbia and its leadership”, Karen Walker, ATW Editor-in-Chief, said. Chile-based LATAM was selected Airline of the Year. Other award recipients include Scoot (Eco-Airline of the Year), Jet2 (Value Airline of the Year), American Airlines (Force for Good, co-presented with Airlink nonprofit), Jordanian CEO Samer Majali (Leadership Excellence), Cathay Cargo (Cargo Operator), Pittsburgh International Airport (Airport of the Year), Air France-Groupe ADP (Airline-Airport Partnership) and Saudia Airlines COO Suliaman Yaqoobi (Joseph S. Murphy Award). The 52nd ATW Awards will be presented at a Gala dinner in Milan, Italy, on Thursday, December 10, 2026. The dinner will be held in conjunction with the CAPA World Airline Leader Summit 2026. Commenting on the accolade, Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “Being named an Airline Market Leader is a special honour for us and proof that Air Serbia, as Serbia’s national airline, is a proud ambassador for its country around the world.
